SUMMARY:Live Atelier: Artist Inonge Anandala live at work in the Creative Lab
DESCRIPTION:Inonge Anandala is a fashion designer who works mostly with (but not limited to) African prints and fabrics. During this week she will set up her atelier in the Creative Lab of the museum. Together with the visitors Inonge will create a map of Curaçao out of fabrics. Learn how to cut textiles\, work with needle and thread and be part of this community art work that develops through the week. \n  \nVisit the Live Atlier of Inonge Anandala: \nTuesday – Saturday between 9 am and 12 pm \nFriday – Sunday between 2 and 5 pm \n  \nAbout Inonge Anandala van de Wetering \nInonge Anandala van de Wetering was born in Zambia in 1984. She moved to Amsterdam at the age of 20 years\, where she obtained her bachelor of arts degree in Communications from inHolland University. She also studied Dutch language and Culture in the Netherlands. \nInonge started designing clothes\, bags and accessories trying to mix the zambian and Dutch cultures in terms of fashion\, by combining bright African prints with other commonly used prints in the Netherlands and Europe at large. \nInonge has been living on Curacao since 2016 and she is part of UNIARTE\, a Caribbean art platform based here on the island. Her work has been featured in the just ended exhibition of the Curacao museum’s 70 years old commemoration. \nApart from designing\, she offers different workshops to children and adults. The children’s workshops are designed to encourage them to work with their hands to create things or upcycle old ones. In whatever she creates\, Inonge says she aims to portray the beauty of Africa\, its culture especially Zambia and its people.  She describes her work as sunny\, happy\, playful\, loving and peaceful. \n  \nThis program is made possible by Fonds21\, Fonds voor Cultuurparticipatie and BankGiro Loterij Fonds.
