THE MUSEUM ON THE GO
“If the children can’t come to us… we’ll come to them!”
The Museum On the Go will transform the classroom or indoor into an interactive museum experience. We have passionate “Educators” who will guide and teach different experiments and activities, these activities are specially designed to meet the standards in the official guidelines of the Ministry of Education.
Every teacher has struggled with the challenge of keeping students engaged in class. When students do not find topics or problems particularly interesting or intellectually stimulating, they often have trouble staying focused. One way to change this is to use interactive learning methods that do not focus solely on the end results.
Several studies, such as the UNESCO report on the rights of children in Curaçao, found that Curaçao has a school system that is still instruction-based. Children are not influenced or stimulated in their creative problem-solving skills.
Progam AND LESSONS
With the Museum on the Go program we bring the museum to the classroom. All our activities support auditory, visual and kinesthetic learners. The activities are developed according to our core themes in the museum: Art, Culture, Literature, Nature and STEM. Children get the chance to learn about different subjects, from nature to science, in an accessible and fun way. The activities stimulate curiosity, and creativity as they try new things and discover the world around them.
Each visit consists of the following:
– Introduction by our Educator
– STEM-lesson
– Kunst-lesson
– Play and Learn with Museum Exhibitions
In our first phase we will develop and introduce 3 STEM lessons and 3 Art lessons. We will gradually add more options!
MOBILE MUSEUM EXHIBITIONS
In addition to the STEM and Art lessons, we also want to bring the museum to the schools. In addition to the lessons, we also bring 5 different mobile exhibitions with us! Our Mobile Museum Exhibitions are mini versions of or inspired by the STEAM exhibitions that we now have in the Museum!
These exhibits encourage hands-on exploration and play, bringing the museum experience to the children. Like our physical museum, the Mobile Museum engages children with complex concepts and skills in a playful, interactive way.
